Feline-HCM encourages YOU to share your cat's DNA!

Feline-HCM is an independent website with information about the genetic heart disease HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) in cats. Our primary focus is to ensure researchers get the DNA samples they require.

Feline Cardiomyopathy Consortium (FCC)

Feline Cardiomyopathy Consortium (FCC) is a newly formed research community with several researchers around the world focusing on HCM and Feline-HCM applaud the initiative. Please note that Feline-HCM is not part of FCC, but Feline-HCM has been in contact with the researcher Professor Leslie A. Lyons of the University of California, Davis and is trying to spread the message about how important it is to help the researchers by sending DNA samples from cats with HCM as well as DNA from cats that are tested for HCM. DNA is wanted from cats with HCM and cats that have been tested for HCM

If you have a cat with HCM it is very important for the researchers to get DNA from your cat. Each DNA test really counts and it requires very little effort from you! This is your chance to impact the health of the breed you obviously love. Researchers are also interested in DNA from cats that do not have HCM if they are over 3 years old at the time of HCM ultrasound test. Read more…
